Hi, all-- I've got a number of Dell 2900/2950 machines at various clients, and some of them have Seagate DAT72 drives off the LSILogic PERC 4/Di amr controller identified as: # camcontrol devlist -v scbus0 on amr0 bus 0: <PE/PV 1x6 SCSI BP 1.0> at scbus0 target 6 lun 0 (ses0,pass0) scbus1 on amr0 bus 1: <SEAGATE DAT DAT72-052 A060> at scbus1 target 6 lun 0 (sa0,pass1) scbus-1 on xpt0 bus 0: < > at scbus-1 target -1 lun -1 (xpt0) On one system which I've just updated from 6.1 to 6.3, the tape drive has disappeared: # camcontrol devlist -v scbus-1 on xpt0 bus 0: < > at scbus-1 target -1 lun -1 (xpt0) "camcontrol rescan all" doesn't seem to do anything. This has been running a slightly modified SMP kernel, but I'm going to add "options CAMDEBUG" to try to get more info. # dmesg | grep amr amr0: <LSILogic MegaRAID 1.53> mem 0xfa0f0000-0xfa0fffff, 0xfe9c0000-0xfe9fffff irq 46 at device 14.0 on pci2 amr0: delete logical drives supported by controller amr0: <LSILogic PERC 4e/Di> Firmware 521S, BIOS H430, 256MB RAM amr0: delete logical drives supported by controller amrd0: <LSILogic MegaRAID logical drive> on amr0 amrd0: 69880MB (143114240 sectors) RAID 1 (optimal) Trying to mount root from ufs:/dev/amrd0s1a It's seen under 6.1, and I'm going to have someone try to burn a 6.2 CD and see whether the tape drive is seen under that version of the OS to try and identify when the regression might have happened. Regards, -- -Chuck
