Wow.  Did you read the reams of bikeshedding that have taken place on this 
very topic before jumping into this?  If this doesn't look eerily 
familiar, you should have read ports/sysutils/no-login first.  Don't be 
surprised if the anti-code-bloat legions call for a backout.
