Might try

chmod +x /usr/local/etc/rc.d/httpdstart.sh

ciao,
Dave

Subject: Need Apache and ddclient to start at boot

I have a fresh install of FreeBSD 4.5 on my server. I have installed =
Apache and ddclient (Dynamic DNS app) installed. I can manually start =
each of these applications, but I can not get them to start =
automatically. I placed a copy of the ddclient script in the =
/usr/local/etc/rc.d/ directory, but it doesnt start. I have to manually =
go to that directory and run that file to start it.

As far as Apache, I created a file called httpdstart.sh, used an =
editor and placed:
  /usr/local/apache2/bin/apachectl start
inside the file, and also put it in the rc.d directory. It doesnt =
start either, but I assume that is because of something I am doing =
wrong.

Can someone enlighten me on the proper procedure for doing this?

  Thanks,
  Brian T.
