FWIW, my problem is trivial to reproduce: I start kde. :-)

Whenever I login (xdm login, if that's of any relevance), having 
replaced libc_r* with libthr*, most of my konsole (of which I have some 
30 or 40, as tabs on two different desktops) result in some kind of 
crash, which is caught by the KDE Crash Handler.

I'm updating world to get the backtrace for thr. If you want, I can get 
the backtrace for kse too. But, really, I'd but amazed if this wasn't 
trivial to reproduce, since it is so consistent for me.
