How odd.  In this case you should certainly consider installing the PAO
package, available at http://www.jp.freebsd.org/PAO.  Not allowing point
enablers would be a variation from previous PCIC's.

Generally the PCIC (the bridge) takes care of this, that's why it's a
bridge.
