Use userland ppp as described here: http://www.freebsd.org/doc/en_US.ISO8859-1/books/handbook/userppp.html Pay particular attention to the note at the top. IIRC the old device sio in the kernel config was changed to uart. Make sure you have this and note the corresponding serial port renaming that accompanied the change. I haven't used a modem in quite some time now, but that ought to get you headed in the right direction. -Mike
