I installed the 20010323 snapshot from relen4.freebsd.org today, and on
doing the X desktop configuration, selected KDE as the preferred desktop.
Sysinstall chugged for a bit, and then gave me the following error:

Unable to fetch package libmng-1.0.0_1 from the selected media.
No package add will be done.

then..

Loading of dependant package libmng-1.0.0_1 failed

then..

Loading of dependant package kdesupport-2.1 failed

then..

Loading of dependant package kdelibs-2.1 failed

then..

An error occurred while adding the package(s) required
by this desktop type. Please change installation media
and/or select a different, perhaps simpler, desktop
  environment and try again.

First off, s/dependant/dependent/. Second, it's a pity the install of KDE
didn't work. When I installed another package (not desktop), ntop, it
worked fine. I then went to the KDE packages section of the Packages
installer in sysinstall, and noted that there is a kde-i18n-2.1, but no
kde-2.1, which (as I understand it) should exist. The GNOME/sawfish
install also failed, du to a failure to fetch glib-1.2.10 and ORBit. In
fact, it generally appeared that there were package problems associated
with the desktop packages.

I may be experiencing connectivity problems to releng4 (although fvwm as a
desktop did install alright), but regardless of that, it would be good if
other people checked the desktop package installs, if kde-2.1 appeared in
the KDE section, and if the spelling of dependent was fixed.
