This is normally supposed to fail. Just to be clear: the problem arises when preloading a module via the loader, not via kldload. It definitely "worked" (or the loading of the module silently failed) with 4.3 and before and broke during the 4.4-prerelease cycle. I did unfortunately not have the time to identify the culprit.
