your right, I didn't install the glx into the Xf86config.. I figured the port would just add it in automatically. it works great with glclock =) however xscreensaver doesn't work too well... I installed as it is in /usr/ports/x11/xscreensaver I then exec 'xscreensaver' as a basic user in a csh shell... get a prompt with options "Demo" "Prefs" and "Help". I click demo and here is the verbose output: xscreensaver: selecting events on extant windows... done. xscreensaver-demo: not found xscreensaver: child pid 8449 (<unknown>) exited abnormally (code 127). the demo binary doesn't exist... same error with "Prefs" the only binary I did find was xscreensaver-command. just wondering what the deal is with that and why I don't have a -demo binary? -Darren On Fri, 2 Feb 2001, David Bushong wrote: > On Fri, Feb 02, 2001 at 01:16:54PM -0700, Darren wrote: > > > > ... > > > > also what other programs can I use to test OpenGL on my computer, I"m not > > a huge quake fan. > > > > -Darren > > > I think Jordan answered your main question, so I'll answer this one: > > I always test GL apps using the various GL-enabled XScreensaver bits > (/usr/ports/x11/xscreensaver), like "lament", "atlantis", "cage" and whatnot. > > BTW, I have utah-glx working great for my TNT.. but I'm never buying another > nVidia again unless they amend their XFree86-hating ways. > > --David Bushong > To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-stable" in the body of the message
