The peer never sends ``col:'' I presume you've used the example in the
docs which show the peer sending ``protocol: ``? Just trim your login
line and try again:

 set login "TIMEOUT 10 \"\" \"\" gin--gin: mlewis1 word: xxxxxxxx"
