Shouldn't it all just be > encapsulated into the USES variable? I believe the point is that USES= is the new system and everything is slowly converting to use it. As I understand it, it is related to enabling pkg builds to be available with multiple option settings for each port instead of only default options. It appears that only one option is available within USES so extra options need another variable. As pgsql has USES=pgsql[:version] - WANT_PGSQL is needed for component options. In related news setting the default version in /etc/make.conf is now DEFAULT_VERSIONS= pgsql=9.3 -- FreeBSD - the place to B...Software Developing Shane Ambler
