I haven't had a problem with the one linux binary I built ( linux netscape ). I do have a problem with a linux dso module for apache. Sucks... cause now I'm forced to use Rhat... and I really really wanted to avoid this. As for hardware compatability.... on a dell precision 610 with Adapatec Array 1000, FreeBSD didn't recognize the raid partition, only the single disk devices. I'm sure it's a config issue on my side - haven't spent too much time with FreeBSD. I'm about 3/4 of the way done on building a Rhat 4 processor pentium pro200 box with HP netraid adapter. Rhat saw the 20gig raid 5 partition no problem. -Ben ----- Original Message ----- > Dear Everyone; > What about compatiability with the Linux world will I be able to run stuff > compiled for Linux on freebsd without to much trouble? > > What about hardware compatibility just from reading the package it seems > that freebsd seems to support more hardware, is this true? > > > Sincerely > > Brian To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-questions" in the body of the message
