The disadvantages to not having a standard libc :(. Perhaps the ones 
from Russ Cox's Plan 9 From User Space would be a better start? (A.K.A. 
plan9port)

I know Sascha Wildner (DragonFly syscons extraordinaire, among other 
things) was interested in porting this in that camp. If you're going to 
take a look at it, perhaps it would be a good idea to talk to him. I'd 
be interested in helping as well.
