Scott,

Thanks again for your help.  ltmdm doesn't show up with sysctl,
and nothing shows up in /var/log/console or /var/log/messages.
Weird.

This was a straight-forward 4.4-RELEASE install, seems like it should
be working.  I'm going to see if I can get minicom or some other
terminal program to recognize the device, instead of using tun0
through ppp.

Any other ideas would be greatly appreciated. :)
