Correct me if I'm wrong, but as far as I understand bsd.python.mk,
this switch is meant to select an _older_ 2.x version as the default.

I think you're supposed to set PYTHON_MAJOR_VER?

But some ports aren't ready for python3 yet. E.g. I couldn't get the numpy
1.6.2 port. to work with python3. So I made a port for numpy 1.7.0 that
works with python3.
