i don't know if this is a known issue or not but i don't recall seeing it posted to the list. i had to turn off dma to install also, but i have seen posts in relation to that. anyways, the installer cd fails at the following: Mounting root from ufs:/dev/md0 start_init: trying /sbin/init start_init: trying /sbin/oinit start_init: trying /sbin/init.bak start_init: trying /stand/sysinstall a full serial console log can be found at: http://aard.org/fbsd/sparc-51r.txt i tried installing on the local console as well as the serial console using only one download of the 5.1-r mini disc but i burned it to two diffrent cd-rs on two different burners and it failed in the same place on each. i also changed cd-roms on the machine i was trying to install to, but no joy. -- aard@perilith.com
