Amazing.  Doens't anyone ever search the mailing list archives for
answers any more?  This question has been asked and answered at least 4
times in the last month (not that I pay much attention).

In your kernel config, add the line:

	device pcm0

build new kernel, instlall, reboot

You'll also need to make the sound devices:

	cd /dev ; ./MAKEDEV snd0
