sorry, its all current tho obviously :P

8.1-RELEASE i386 (hmm its a xeon, poss someone used wrong install disk)
clamav-0.97

typical dmesg is

pid 74935 (clamd), uid 106: exited on signal 11

I was mainly interested to see if anyone else was seeing anything simliar.

will try your gdb tip.
