    As I have said, I have no problem working with John to help him merge
    whatever conflicts might occur, but I believe it has to be done after
    the fact, not before.  If this were a 'race to commit to -current' it
    would be a race being run by turtles.

    John has not once solicited my opinion or asked for clarification of
    anything I have done.  Not about the giant wrappers, not about the
    critical_*() code.  Not once.   I've heard plenty of crap spewed forth
    on IRC, virtually none of it correct.  I find it rather unbelievable,
    in fact, that John can make such grandiose statements on IRC about
    my code without checking his facts.
