I have the setting you're describing.
At the begining I had configurations problems, but I get those resolved. 
My problems were mainly bad connection with cisco router with mlppp.
Now motorola issued an upgrade to fix compatibility problems with cisco.

Your bitsurfr pro will accept the same setting as your modem: at&d2&c1
