....as seen by this snippet, my sound card is being found by my custom kernel, but it does not make an snd0 device. sb0 at 0x220 irq 7 drq 1 on isa sb0: <SoundBlaster 16 4.13> sbxvi0 at 0x0 drq 5 on isa sbxvi0: <SoundBlaster 16 4.13> sbmidi0 at 0x330 on isa <SoundBlaster MPU-401> # cd /dev # ./MAKEDEV snd0 # ls snd0* ls: No match. # has anyone run into this, and if so, do they have a fix. also, but very related, Aft6erStep requires showaudio, and nowhere in the handbook, FAQ, or docs can I find a description of what this is, or where to get it.
