3Ware. Promise is not really a hardware controller, independend
of the OS. 3Ware is. The driver in the OS is just to provide
management interface, like notification of a failed disk, etc.

3Ware 7000-2 is $102 at places like www.8anet.com
Promise is like $10 cheaper, maybe.
