If you do it properly, you can obtain a PPP or SLIP account from your provider. If that is cost-prohibitive, then you can use SLiRP to turn your login session into a PPP session. Is that possible? You could do EVERYTHING on the local machine. You can always just telnet into your ISP ifyou need to do shell work there.
