Be careful how far you generalise.  If you have an AMD K6-2 (or -III) you
will get a much better time from a Voodoo2 because of the much better 3DNow
support in the driver.  Even this piece of knowledge is transient; it seems
that the Voodoo3 drivers are not so 3DNow aware, and the TNT2 kicks its arse.

See www.anandtech.com and www.tomshardware.com (among others) and read until
your eyes fall out.
