Greetings from Dr=2E Julian H=2E Zhitnitsky!

Accidental Tooth Loss by Injury

It can happen in the blink of an eye: an accident that leaves a tooth h=
anging by a thread or lying on the ground=2E Kids, athletes, soccer hoo=
ligans - it can happen to just about anyone=2E Ouch! But if it does hap=
pen, it's important to know the proper first aid:

- If the tooth is loose (even extremely so!) but is still attached in a=
ny way, leave it in place=2E Do not remove it!
- If it is out of its socket completely and unattached, but still in th=
e victim's mouth, it is best to have the person hold the tooth in their=
 mouth, if possible, until a dentist can attempt re-implantation=2E
- If the tooth is out of the mouth, do not let it dry out=2E Handle it =
as little as possible=2E Do not attempt to disinfect the tooth, or scru=
b it, or remove any tissue attached to it=2E
- If the tooth is recovered from the ground or other soiled area, rinse=
 it off in lukewarm water=2E Preserve it in milk until a dentist is ava=
ilable=2E If milk is not available, lukewarm water will suffice=2E

Time out of the socket is critical in the long-term success of re-impla=
ntation=2E After 30 minutes, the success potential begins to decline=2E=
 However, re-implantation is still possible after several hours, so the=
 attempt can still be made even if the tooth has been out for a long pe=
riod=2E

Remember, even if re-implantation fails, you have a variety of other op=
tions=2E For more information on emergency dental care or tooth replace=
ment, please don't hesitate to call us at (818)785-8388 or email us at =
drz@dentistsherwood=2Ecom today=2E

Best Regards,
Dr=2E Julian H=2E Zhitnitsky

se our services, please don't hesitate to have them call us=2E We'll be=
 sure to take good care of them=2E
