: Why wouldn't it be possible to modify the console driver so that the scan : rates could be changed on it to allow those of us with large, fixed-scan : monitors to see boot messages and use the virtual consoles? I'm gonna go : look to see where the video card is initialized. Linux has SVGATextMode that does this. Might want to give that a shot. Requires some kernel hacks if you change the size of the console window (to say 132x50). Warner
