I had this very same problem... I'm still not really sure exactly what it was that was causing it, but here is what i did: removed/commented all entries for CPUTYPE, CFLAGS, COPTFLAGS from my make.conf, rebuilt world, rebuilt kernel. after i did that, i could put the cputype back in and recompile the world and kernel and it worked fine... it doesn't look like you're even using CPUTYPE, but perhaps some of those other optimizations are causing you trouble.
