Wanna bet -- not on the same cable (bus) but on the same controller looking 
like one drive...

Actually, Longshine made a controller that would mix SCSI and IDE drives
into one large striped disk.  It looked like a WD1003 MFM controller
to Dos and Linux (I think Linux).  It didn't support CDROMS or Tape.
(Imagine the striped mess...)
