Please note that an increasing number of developers are loathe to
comment at all. We are getting so every commit or every question
is a flame-war waiting to start. Most of these issues are not quite
so black-and-white that people are willing to jump in the middle of
the flame and get shot at.

Me, I'm somewhat more sympathetic to Matt's position than JMB's
uber-commits which are somewhere in P4 space, but that does not
mean I want to go shooting arrows in JMB's direction either.
Some of this is just "shit happens", and someone with the best
of intentions gets caught up in other real-world distractions,
and they don't get their work finished as fast as they originally
planned.

In fact, that is part of the reason I'm more sympathetic to Matt's
position. Maybe everyone hates the change Matt has made, but it's
there in the open where we could, uh, "discuss" it (not that we
spend much time discussing technical merits any more). JMB has
some changes which may be great and wonderful, but they are
apparently huge and they are not getting committed. This is not
a good way to work on changes in a project which has hundreds of
opinionated developers.

I have the feeling I'm supposed to pick the "bad guy" here, and
the "good guy", and I must admit I am tired of that. I want to
choose between the "good update" and the "bad update", and then
have a round of drinks with everyone at the bar at the end of
the day. Despite the tone of some of my messages, I am not a
part of FreeBSD because I like arguing with people and making
enemies. About the only think I like to do is write code. I
like feedback from other experienced developers (as much as I
might disagree with specific technical points when I'm in the
middle of that "feedback"...).
