I am inquiring about support for the promise pdc20378 SATA RAID controller on a Tyan Tomcat S5012G3NR motherboard. I am about to take delivery of a server with this hardware and wanted to mirror two disks. The supplier is preloading FreeBSD (I'm a new to this OS) but says there are problems supporting the RAID controller. I have seen this in a recent previous post... "...the RAID support is great using the Promise PDC20378 SATA150 controller for FreeBSD." Can anyone give some pointers as to how this support for RAID is achieved? I've started to look at the vinum and atacontrol documentation but am getting buried under a wealth of new information. Any clues would be helpful. Thanks, Jim Mozley
