I thought this was a problem of Gimp, but the trace shows that it does read only operation. Since PRs currently don't work, I will link you to the original PR for Gimp: http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=376687 I still have the files and the traces and am willing to give them to anyone who cares.
