I don't know if this is really related to vm_mmap.c, but I have a problem with a kernel from current (vm_mmap.c revision 1.40). The kernel does not boot, I got a panic after 'devfs ready to run'. At this point, the screen is cleared (vertical blue lines with strange symbols :-) but I had the time to see a 'double fault' message. (btw I get the exact same behavior if i try to boot with a fixit floppy with gzip'ed executables) The machine is a P90 with 32MB (all scsi). The same kernel works on a 486DX50 with 4MB (1 ide disk). However I had a panic when rebooting: bash# reboot syncing disks... 4 4 1 done vm_page_free: wire count > 1 (2)panic: vm_page_free: invalid wire count This panic occured once in about 10 reboots.
