Hi everyone! for some days i have been trying to figure out why i can't allocate any substantial amount of memory by using either the XvShmCreateImage or the XShmCreateImage calls. i am using freebsd 4.1-release with xfree-4.0.1 (i tried the package first, then compiled xfree by hand just to be sure the port wasn't the cause). my graphics card is a matrox g400 agp with 32mb of ram. i can allocate 6 frames of memory at 720x576x16bpp on freebsd, while on a test linux installation on the same box i can allocate nearly 100 of these frames. the problem seems to be freebsd-related i figured. a friend of mine reproduced the effect on another freebsd 4.1 box. any hints/pointers are appreciated! regards, Heiko To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-multimedia" in the body of the message
