not the newest version. you might get an old version to run.

no, the installation uses more ram than the normal operation. i used to 
"borrow" a meg from a friend or someone with a similar computer and then
give it back, after the installation.

it works better if you cc the list. that way if the person you're talking
to doesn't know the answer maybe someone else will.
