My /etc/printcap file on the remote FBSD box to print looks like:

# Printcap
lp|LP|remote|Printer lp on gate:\
	:rm=gate:sd=/var/spool/output/gate:lf=/var/log/lpd-errs:sh:


(Gate is the FBSD box the printer is attached to.)

Also, on the FBSD box with the printer attached alter or create the file
/etc/hosts.lpd and put the remote FBSD's box hostname in that.
