Ofcourse, All the major networks use nothing but FreeBSD to power the irc
servers  (atleast on efnet).

Microsoft: "Where would you like to go to today"
Linux: "Where would you like to go tomorrow"
FreeBSD: "Hey,when are you guys going to catch up"
