I've used Intel Etherexpress cards in a number of FreeBSD installations
(in fact,
it's what I have in the machine I'm using now) with no problems. I have
heard of
the "on board" Etherexpress causing trouble, so it might be a good idea
to avoid
those.
additionally, I've used all manner of 3com cards without problem.
