for me, they work, but my only options are to turn on overlay, and
toggle numlock/scrolllock...

actually, this broke about a year ago...  I was running 3.0-970123-SNAP
(I think) and when I hit a key, the screen would come back...  but as of
about 3-6 months after that it broke...

I don't know exactly what the problem is, but it did use to work fine...

guess I need to go back through those mods and find out which one broke
it...
