I have an old Compaq laptop (lte 5300, p133, 32MB Ram)
which freezes everytime I am removing the pcmcia network card (3Com EtherLink III 3C589) from its slot
But, funny thing, I can remove the card without problems before the kernel gets the chance to load the 3Com module
If this module is loaded, then any removal of the pcmcia card will generate a computer freeze
