Strange.  I'd have said, if you're picky about what you want to do,
put an objective, and if you're not, don't put an objective.  Most
people I know (in any field) are picky, and the more expert they are,
the pickier they are -- the stronger are their likes and dislikes.
(Quite apart from the impression an employer would get from a waffling
resume which went "I don't know what I want to do, I'll do whatever
you want...")

So when you said "Nowadays I usually don't state an objective" it's
because you don't have a résumé either?
