Another data point: when I replace GEOM_{MBR,BSD} with GEOM_PART_{MBR,BSD} my
system becomes unbootable and remains stuck at the mountroot> prompt. My root
fs is on ad0s1a but the available geoms only list ad0a (and no slices), which
obviously doesn't work.
