Yes, the speed is determined by the hub ("the controller")
and will be usable on all ports corresponding to that hub.

Use dd to transfer a file, or use the Midnight Commander
which will show you the average transfer speed. Make sure
you use a big file so you can actually _see_ something. ;-)
