Install other Apache modules from ports (i've found with _at least_ with mod_frontpage, mod_dav, and mod_gzip). You'll find that the lines added to the httpd.conf file in the AddModule and LoadModule sections get added inside of the IfDefine SSL sections instead of in the main sections hence those modules will only load if SSL is enabled. >How-To-Repeat: Install apache-mod_ssl and then other apache modules.
