I would like to combine the /hd2 and /usr partitions to one /new larger
partition.

Should I research vinum or should I be reading something else?

I am running FreeBSD 4.6-RELEASE.

My partition layout is:
scsibox# df -h
Filesystem Size Used Avail Capacity Mounted on
/dev/da0s1a 126M 39M 77M 33% /
/dev/da1s1e 2.0G 185M 1.7G 10% /hd2
/dev/da0s1f 252M 4.7M 227M 2% /tmp
/dev/da0s1g 3.2G 2.9G 58M 98% /usr
/dev/da0s1e 252M 67M 165M 29% /var
procfs 4.0K 4.0K 0B 100% /proc

TIA,
