From my understanding of pkgjam this is a completely new system for building applications only on NetBSD and it doesn't relate at all to FreeBSD Ports system. Plus it contains tools like pkg_info which also share the same names with FreeBSD base utilities but are completely different. It won't be ported to FreeBSD anytime soon, if at all. My intention to name my utility just pkg was to make it as simple as possible (especially quick for typing). It gets rid of using various pkg_*. Instead you got ONE simple tool which do everything you need for quickly managing the ports. Andy Kosela Pythagoras Foundation
