Ok sorry--however, you might have better luck asking on freebsd-questions 
(actually, I thought that I was replying on questions--I excuse myself by 
the fact that it's very late.)

As Sue posts fairly frequently, that's the place for the questions--one big 
reason being that since this is a newbies list, despite having a few gurus 
on here, we're far less likely to get good answers--after all, in many 
cases it can be the blind leading
the blind.  :)
(Although they frequently take pity and answer the questions here, it's 
almost always with a comment that we should have posted the question on 
questions)

All kidding aside, you might have better results there--however, be sure to 
mention that you're already familiar with the dmesg | grep irq method, as 
otherwise, you'll
get several replies telling you that one.  :)
