I recently went through the same ordeal.=20

The deal here is that you have to have a JVM already installed on your syst=
em=20
in order to install OpenJDK. Effectively, then, the installation of java/op=
enjdk6 is a=20
two step process: first you install the java/diablo-jdk16 port by downloadi=
ng and=20
installing the relevant package from freebsdfoundation.org, and then you su=
bsequently=20
install java/openjdk6.=20

Afterwards, obviously, you have to change your PATH variable so that you in=
voke=20
the newer openjdk6 by default.=20

I could have sworn that java/openjdk6 tells you this when you try to build =
the port
though.

Agree that there could be more thorough documentation around this.=20
