Hmm.  Should work.  Try /dev/cuaa0.  Also try 'cu -s 1200 -l /dev/cuaa0'.

What brand/type of rodent?  You may need more control signals.  Also try
removing the mouse calls in /etc/rc.serial (I've never needed them...)
