Dell Inspiron 8000 was soon outdated by 8100 and now by 8200. 
You can have the 8200 with P4 up to 2.0 GHz at present.

But the point is 3D acceleration in my case. Having the large 1600x1200
screen is nice per se for progam development and having many 
different windows etc etc. But for developing OpenGL graphics applications
it would be nice to take full advantage of the GeForce2 or GeForce4
chip.

And this is a major drawback at present with FreeBSD and the driver
project doesn't get right on, does it?
