a close friend here works for sun microsystems and he's suggested either 
implementing a JavaCard spec for picoBSD (a stripped down kaffe for eg) 
or waiting for a public domain implementation and then using that. the 
JavaCard spec is created for smartcards with operating RAM of about 128K 
and cardspace of about 8K+.
